God gives instructions on how to make cleansing, water. The ingredientsdisplay red, symbolizing life in the blood. The animal is sacrificed outsidethe Israelite camp with its blood also burned. The ashes are then to bemixed with water to be sprinkled on those who have become ceremoniallyunclean through contact with a dead body.  - P40

This passage reflects the importance of physical and ritual cleanliness before God, but it also foreshadowsChrist‘s sacrificial death on our behalf so that we might become clean.  - P40

Likethe red heifer, Christ is without defect, perfect and sinless. It is the sacrificeof His blood that cleanses us of our sin.  - P40

Just as the priest sprinkled bloodtoward the tabernacle to cleanse the people, we have Jesus as our GreatHigh Priest who cleanses our hearts, granting us access to our holy God. - P40

Dear Jesus, You are the living water that cleanses us from sin.  - P41

We want toencourage others to come and receive Your forgiveness. Give us the courageand opportunities to be faithful witnesses. In Your name, amen. - P41

God gives Moses purification laws for those defiled through contact with acorpse. Anyone touching a dead body is unclean for seven days and must besprinkled with the water of cleansing.  - P42

Failure to perform this cleansing riteresults in exclusion from the community,  - P43

Matthew 15:18-20 NLT
[18] But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. [19] For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. [20] These are what defile you. Eating with unwashed hands will never defile you." - P45

While the saying can be used to promote good sanitary practices, the concept of being clean is also a crucial aspect of the Christian life. More significant than physical cleanliness, being spiritually clean begs the two-partquestion: what makes you clean and unclean? Addressing the latter, whatmakes a person unclean is found in his or her own heart.  - P45

We can believeourselves to be generally good people, but the dark plague of sin can infectour inner being. Murder, sexual immorality, adultery, and deception arejust a few examples Jesus Christ gives of how spiritually unwell we can be(Matt. 15:18-20).

- P45

If we are all unclean because ofSin, then we must know how we can become clean. God makes clear that no number of good words, deeds,
or thoughts alone can wash away the filth we are covered in.  - P45

Our limitedactions cannot cleanse and purify us. Instead, the Bible says that those whoput their faith in Jesus are washed by His blood. Jesus makes us clean. Letus look to Him and rely on His righteousness to purify us. - P45

21"I give to the Levites all the tithes in Israel as their inheritance in return for the work they do while serving at the tent of meeting.

22From now on the Israelites must not go near the tent of meeting, or they will bear the consequences of their sin and will die.

- P32

25The Lord said to Moses,

26"Speak to the Levites and say to them: ‘When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the Lord’s offering.
- P32

29You must present as the Lord’s portion the best and holiest part of everything given to you.’ - P29

32By presenting the best part of it you will not be guilty in this matter; then you will not defile the holy offerings of the Israelites, and you will not die.’" - P33

The Israelites are no longer allowed to go near the tent of meeting because of their sinful rebellion, and the Levites bear the immense responsibility of not only doing the work at the tent of meeting but also dealing with any offenses they might commit in that holy place. - P34

God tells Aaron that, for generations, the Levites will be different from the other tribes, receiving their inheritance from the tithes given by the people rather than in the form of land. - P34

We see both God’s care for His people and the use of tithing to provide for His servants. May we be good stewards of all He has given us, contributing to the blessing and provision of those who faithfully serve His household. - P34

The principle of tithing is explained in God‘s instructions for the Levites. They receive out of the tithe offerings from the people, but from thistithe, the Levites are also instructed to give one tenth-the best and holiestpart-as an offering to the Lord.  - P34

They should choose the best and holiestpart because God deserves the best that they can give. Even the Levites,
whose wages come from others, are expected to give from what they havereceived.  - P34

Out of the money, time, and resources that are given to us, we areto give a portion back to God as an offering. In this way, we acknowledgeHis blessings and support the work of service to Him. - P34

Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me of the importance of giving. Help me to avoid selfishness and maintain a grateful heart so that I may always give my best back to You. In Jesus’ name, amen. - P34

God instructs Moses and Aaron about the making of the water of cleansing.
A red heifer without blemish is slaughtered outside the camp, its blood sprin-kled toward the front of the tent of meeting. The heifer is burned entirely, withcedarwood; hyssop, and scarlet wool added. Its ashes are mixed with waterfor purifying those defiled by contact with death. - P39

The Kingdom of Eswatini is one of Africa‘s smallest nations. Sadly, it is also one of the poorestcountries in the world. The high infection rates of HIV/AIDS have resulted in a large number oforphans, many of whom are malnourished, stuck in prostitution, and extremely impoverished.
While the majority of the population identify as Christian, many churchgoers practice Zionism, amix of ancestor worship and Christian beliefs.
Prayer Points-Pray for breakthrough in the HIV/AIDS epidemic so families can find physical healing.
- Praise God for believers who have a heart to share the gospel with those who are suffering. - P40

Hebrews 10:19 NLT
[19] And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. - P148

1The Lord said to Aaron, "You, your sons and your family are to bear the responsibility for offenses connected with the sanctuary, and you and your sons alone are to bear the responsibility for offenses connected with the priesthood. - P26

8Then the Lord said to Aaron, "I myself have put you in charge of the offerings presented to me; all the holy offerings the Israelites give me I give to you and your sons as your portion, your perpetual share.

9You are to have the part of the most holy offerings that is kept from the fire. From all the gifts they bring me as most holy offerings, whether grain or sin or guilt offerings, that part belongs to you and your sons.

10Eat it as something most holy; every male shall eat it. You must regard it as holy.

- P27

14"Everything in Israel that is devoted to the Lord is yours.

15The first offspring of every womb, both human and animal, that is offered to the Lord is yours. But you must redeem every firstborn son and every firstborn male of unclean animals.

- P28

19Whatever is set aside from the holy offerings the Israelites present to the Lord I give to you and your sons and daughters as your perpetual share. It is an everlasting covenant of salt before the Lord for both you and your offspring."

20The Lord said to Aaron, "You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.

- P29

God gives Aaron, the priests, and the Levites specific responsibilities for how to lead the people and serve Him in worship. The Levites join in the care of the tent of meeting, but only Aaron and his sons can serve as priests at the altar and inside the curtain because elaborate cleansing rituals are necessary to stand in the presence of the holy God. - P30

Today, we can freely approach the Lord because Christ shed His blood as the ultimate cleansing sacrifice. However, this does not mean that we should approach God without any care or consideration. - P30

We must take worship seriously because God is holy, and it is an immense privilege to stand and worship in His presence. - P30

Because Aaron and his sons have a special role among the Israelites, they do not receive an inheritance like everyone else. God defines Himself as their share and their inheritance, but this does not mean that they will not receive any tangible blessings. God grants them a portion of the offerings that the Israelites bring for Him, including the finest olive oil and the firstfruits of the harvest. - P30

God cares about the needs of those who lead in worship. Full-time ministers should be taken care of so that they can dedicate their time in service to God and His people. - P30

God knows the needs of His people, and He ensures that we all contribute to providing for one another. - P30

When we see God giving the firstfruits the best offerings to Aaron andthe Levites, we see that giving is an act of love that dignifies rather thandemeans the receiver. Those who lead others in serving God are called tomaintain a life of holiness and dedication to Him, and they receive gifts inaccordance with that calling.
- P31

Today, I am truly grateful for all that our missionary family received inthose years. Many churches and individuals generously gave their time andresources as an offering to God, and I learned that, when you depend uponthe Lord, He will provide for your needs.  - P31

May we recognize that providingfor the needs of those who are called to serve in full-time ministry is anopportunity to show the love of Jesus to those who faithfully lead us. - P31

Dear Lord, sometimes it is hard to give what I know You deserve to receive. Help me to see all of my possessions and resources as gifts to steward, and use them to serve You and bless others. In Your name, amen. - P31

God assigns Israel‘s tithes to the Levites as payment for their service in thetabernacle. The Levites are instructed to give a tenth of the tithes they receiveto the high priest as an offering.  - P33

These tithes are the Lord‘s portion and theLevites may freely use the rest of their wages. - P33

"You must present as the LORD‘s portion the best and holiest part of everythinggiven to you."- Numbers 18:29
Praise Praise God for His generosity and His eagerness to give good gifts to His children.

Confession Examine your heart to see if there is any reluctance to give God the best of whatyou have. Confess it and receive His forgiveness. - P35
