Proverbs 4:23 NLT
[23] Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Ezekiel 36:25-27 NLT
[25] "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. [26] And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. [27] And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
- P104

Revelation 4:1 NLT
[1] Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this."

- P134

42The Merarites were counted by their clans and families.

43All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to serve in the work at the tent of meeting,

45This was the total of those in the Merarite clans. Moses and Aaron counted them according to the Lord’s command through Moses. - P135

47All the men from thirty to fifty years of age who came to do the work of serving and carrying the tent of meeting

48numbered 8,580.

49At the Lord’s command through Moses, each was assigned his work and told what to carry. Thus they were counted, as the Lord commanded Moses. - P135

Moses completes the census of the Levite clans, counting the Kohathites,
Gershonites, and Merarites. The Kohathites, responsible for the sacred items ofthe tabernacle, number 2,750; the Gershonites, responsible for the coverings,
number 2,630; and the Merarites, responsible for the structure, number 3,200.
Each clan‘s duties are organized for transporting the tabernacle. - P135

Dismantling, carrying, and setting up the tent are physically demanding tasks, and there are strict rules to be followed throughout the process. The fact that all men between the ages of thirty and fifty are counted tells us that God calls everyone to be trained to handle the work He assigns them, and He desires them to grow in their roles. - P136

Similarly, God calls each of us today to be workers in His kingdom. Though our tasks will require physical, mental, and spiritual training, it is worthwhile to be counted among those who serve in God’s kingdom. - P136

None are excluded from these responsibilities, and all of this is for the benefit of the entire community. In Numbers 3:11–13, God explicitly calls the Levites to be His own. They are set apart for His service. As a result, each one is counted, and none are exempt from fulfilling God’s commands. - P136

Today, we serve as God’s priests in our own communities and society. We are all accounted for before God and committed to His purpose. - P136

May we never forget that each of us is precious in His sight, and let us faithfully carry out the good works He has assigned to us. - P136

Some were thriving, while others faced greaterchallenges. But in all of it, I kept thinking, "God truly works through theobedience and dedication of His missionaries."
- P137

A friend of mine recently told me that his dad, who served as a missionary,
While some missionaries retire, others continue theis retiring thisyear.
work God has entrusted to us. Let us remember this and look beyondourselves to see the bigger picture God is painting through His people inthe world. - P137

Heavenly Father, thank you for calling me to be Your own and setting me apart for Your kingdom’s work. - P137

May I be prepared physically, mentally, and spiritually for the responsibilities You have entrusted to me, and may You use me to bless the community and society around me. In Jesus’ name, amen. - P137

21The Lord said to Moses,

22"Take a census also of the Gershonites by their families and clans.

23Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting. - P130

29"Count the Merarites by their clans and families.

30Count all the men from thirty to fifty years of age who come to serve in the work at the tent of meeting.

31As part of all their service at the tent, they are to carry the frames of the tabernacle, its crossbars, posts and bases, - P131

God instructs Moses to count the Gershonites and Merarites, assigning themspecific duties related to the tabernacle. The Gershonites are responsible fortransporting the tent, coverings, and hangings, while the Merarites handle theframes, pillars, and bases. Each family is given detailed instructions on theirtasks to ensure proper care and transportation of the tabernacle. - P131

God assigns us specific responsibilities in His church and sometimes, like the Gershonites, our responsibilities may require us to work ahead of everyone else. Rather than resenting having to begin earlier or do more than others, we should remember that God does not need our service but accepts it as part of our worship. - P132

It is an honor to participate in God’s work of building up His people. Let us take pride in our responsibilities and be eager to carry them out! - P132

Once again, God instructs Moses to "assign to each man the specific things he is to carry" (v. 32) This is significant because, unlike the Gershonites, who are assigned duties as a group, the Merarites are assigned specific tasks as individuals. - P132

When we are assigned specific, individual responsibilities, fulfilling them becomes all the more important for the life of the community. We may be assigned seemingly small tasks, like carrying a piece of rope, or the heaviest tasks, like carrying a post. Either way, each of our tasks is meaningful to God when done faithfully in His service. - P132

At this camp, however,
leadership was shared. Each person took responsibility for their tasks, andthere was no pressure on any single individual. Everyone embraced theirrole, and there was no judgment when things did not go perfectly. Thecamp was filled with joy, and by the end, everyone felt a sense of unity andaccomplishment.
This experience was deeply healing for me. It reminded me that, as mem-bers of the body of Christ, we all have a unique role to play.  - P133

We don‘t needto compare ourselves to others or judge their shortcomings or even ourown. When we faithfully do our part as God has called us to, He will useour teamwork for His glory, taking each of our efforts and weaving themtogether into something beautiful.  - P133

Let us not reject or feel weighed downby the work God has given us; instead, let us find joy in the honor of beingpart of His masterpiece! - P133

Heavenly Father, thank you for giving me a specific task in building up Your people. - P133

When I feel burdened by the weight of serving those around me, remind me of the joy of serving You. Let every act of service I carry out be worship to You. In Jesus’ name, amen. - P133

John 3:30 NLT
[30] He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.
- P102

John 3:29 NLT
[29] It is the bridegroom who marries the bride, and the bridegroom’s friend is simply glad to stand with him and hear his vows. Therefore, I am filled with joy at his success. - P102
