2The names of the sons of Aaron were Nadab the firstborn and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

3Those were the names of Aaron’s sons, the anointed priests, who were ordained to serve as priests.

4Nadab and Abihu, however, died before the Lord when they made an offering with unauthorized fire before him in the Desert of Sinai. They had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests during the lifetime of their father Aaron. - P108

7They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community at the tent of meeting by doing the work of the tabernacle. - P108

8They are to take care of all the furnishings of the tent of meeting, fulfilling the obligations of the Israelites by doing the work of the tabernacle. - P109

10Appoint Aaron and his sons to serve as priests; anyone else who approaches the sanctuary is to be put to death." - P109

12"I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine,

13for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They are to be mine. I am the Lord." - P109

Ministry to God’s people flows out of a deep reverence for God Himself. When a chosen servant abandons that reverence, they face God’s judgment because God is holy. - P110

So it is today. Many who serve in our churches take on tasks and responsibilities crucial to ministry but out-of-sight and out-of-mind. They often go unnoticed like the many unnamed Levites working in the tabernacle. If you are one of those people, be encouraged knowing that God notices your service and it is of high value to Him. - P110

There have been many times in my life when I felt like my circumstanceswere without hope and healing and restoration seemed impossible. How-ever, the Bible tells us that what is impossible with man is possible withGod (Luke 18:27).  - P111

Luke 18:27 NLT
[27] He replied, "What is impossible for people is possible with God."

- P111

The Lord is compassionate. He is gracious. He is faithful. Let us join inpraise with the psalmist and trust that God is working all things togetherfor our good: "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a newsong in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fearthe Lord and put their trust in him" (Ps. 40:2-3). - P111

Keep us from prideful attitudes and ways. May we always look to You as the source of our lives and ministries. In Your name, amen. - P111

Luke 22:42 NLT
[42] "Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine."
- P98

Matthew 6:8 NLT
[8] Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!
- P98

Psalms 37:4 NLT
[4] Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. - P98

Galatians 2:20 NLT
[20] My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - P99

9All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first. - P102

16All the men assigned to the camp of Reuben, according to their divisions, number 151,450. They will set out second - P103

17Then the tent of meeting and the camp of the Levites will set out in the middle of the camps. They will set out in the same order as they encamp, each in their own place under their standard. - P103

24All the men assigned to the camp of Ephraim, according to their divisions, number 108,100. They will set out third. - P104

31All the men assigned to the camp of Dan number 157,600. They will set out last, under their standards. - P105

32These are the Israelites, counted according to their families. All the men in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550.

33The Levites, however, were not counted along with the other Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses. - P105

Knowing when and where God is leading us is vital to our spiritual health. Always central to the spiritual journey of God’s people is the presence of the Lord Himself. - P106

Galatians 5:25 NLT
[25] Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. - P106

But always, they follow the pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night. And, at all times, the tent of meeting occupies the central place, symbolizing God’s presence in their midst. The message for us is quite clear: as we prioritize the centrality of Christ in our lives, we will, as Galatians 5:25 exhorts us, "keep in step with the Spirit." - P106

Ephesians 4:3 NLT
[3] Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. - P106

But as we live in obedience to our Lord, we will "make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace" (Eph. 4:3). Best of all, we will begin to learn more about our Lord from others in the camp of faith. - P106

It was then that I understood what 1 Corinthians 12:4 taught:
"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are differentkinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work." - P107

May we learn to respect one another, love one another, and come together as one to bring glory and honor to Your holy name. In Your name I pray, amen. - P107

‘믿음의 삶이란 날개를 펼쳐 저 높은 곳에 단숨에 날아오르는 삶을 의미하지 않습니다. 오히려 한 걸음씩 계속 걸으며 나아가지만 지치지 않는 삶을 의미합니다."  - P97

Luke 14:26 NLT
[26] "If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.
- P97

Romans 4:3 NLT
[3] For the Scriptures tell us, "Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith." - P97

Genesis 18:17 NLT
[17] "Should I hide my plan from Abraham?" the Lord asked. - P98

47The ancestral tribe of the Levites, however, was not counted along with the others. - P98

50Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the covenant law—over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it - P98

51Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who approaches it is to be put to death. - P99

53The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law." - P99

The tribe of Levis exempted from the census of Israel‘s fighting men. TheLevites are instead counted separately, as they are designated for service inthe tabernacle. Moses and Aaron are instructed to assign duties to the Levites,
who will oversee the tabernacle‘s care and transportation. The Israelites obeywhat the Lord commanded Moses. - P99

As believers today, we, too, are set apart for God. We are not to be caught up in worldly pursuits but to serve Him wholeheartedly. This privilege of belonging to God’s people calls us to a life dedicated to God’s service. - P100

We are to honor Him by faithfully carrying out our responsibilities, serving the Lord and serving one another to build up His kingdom. - P100

By setting up their tents and living around the tabernacle, they maintain a protective boundary around it. Their work prevents unintentional trespass into the sacred space, preserving the safety of the Israelites. This role may look different from that of the other tribes, but it is essential to the spiritual life and protection of the community as each tribe contributes to Israel’s collective strength. - P100

Similarly, in the body of Christ, some may serve in pastoral or missionary roles while others serve in areas such as business, healthcare, or education. Each of us has a unique and important assignment and all are vital as we contribute to God’s kingdom. - P100

Instead, being set apart means that we are to bewithin the world but live in a way that reveals our new life in Christ. Weare no longer defined by the world, following its patterns of brokenness,
darkness, and sinfulness. Rather, we demonstrate to others how the mercy,
truth, and love of God have changed our hearts. Because of our salvationthrough Jesus, we reflect His light to those around us. - P101

If we have truly set our lives apart, our hearts are transformed from theinside out. Over time, more of Christ‘s character should be reflected in howwe live.  - P101

We are sanctified; with each passing year, we resemble Him mOur lives should be evidence of how Christ has changed us. We do not lookdifferent from the world out of arrogance or a desire to compare ourselvesto others.  - P101

We simply commit to living by God‘s standards because we seekto be holy as He is holy. - P101

May I fulfill my responsibilities with a heart fully committed to You. In Jesus’ name, amen. - P101
